The Trip that was: September 22, 2014/2015

2014

ENGLAND! We arrived in England to beautiful weather! And after dropping off our luggage at our super small, practically micro, hotel room, we started walking around London! First stop, Queen Victoria Memorial and Buckingham Palace

The famous balcony...

Dutchboy said this sums up his feelings on all this ostentatious "royalty" nonsense.

Admiralty Arch

Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square

First night in London requires pub food. Fish and chips.

Proof that Dutchboy and I are two peas, in, and out of, a pod.

Tower of London at night!

And the famous, Tower Bridge!

 2015

Prague! I had been longing to go to Prague to see the Art Nouveau architecture and to get closer to the works of Alphonse Mucha.  We arrived in time for dinner, but not a lot of sightseeing.  We opted for a small cafe near the Charles bridge.  This was our view.

Dutchboy was trying to figure out where we were.  And to be honest, Czech language makes no sense whether it is upside down or right side up.  We couldn't tell the difference!

Good beer is cheaper than water in Prague.  In fact, they're famous for their Pilsner.  Pivo, prosim! (Beer, please!)

And they serve it with stinky cheese and toast. Fatty and delicious!

This is nectar of the gods, a bitter herbal digestif that I came to love. Becherovka! I hadn't seen or tasted it before this trip, and I insisted on bringing a bottle home with me.  I have since found it at local liquor stores.

On the Charles Bridge!

After crossing the bridge, and looking back towards the city.

More tomorrow!
Tot Ziens!

  1. The turds at Buckingham palace seemed bigger somehow that other turds I've seen elsewhere which is why I took the picture.
